Job Description:

The Business Analyst I – Human Resources is responsible for providing decision support through people, financial and situational analysis to help the organization make better decisions about the future of its workforce. This individual is responsible for supporting the development of business intelligence solutions as well as providing analytical support for the employee lifecycle including but not limited to recruiting, talent management, benefits, retention, and compensation/payroll. The Business Analyst I will work closely with internal business partners to support organizational decisions by turning HR data into concise and actionable data.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports Human Resources to ensure the proper analytics and data are available for internal users.
  • Provides research and analytical support to internal customers including, but not limited to: financial analysis, data analysis, trend identification, as well as comparing against external benchmarking data to identify areas of strength and gaps.
  • Identifies business challenges and opportunities for improvement and solves for them using analysis to make strategic or tactical recommendations.
  • Conducts cost analysis and forecasting associated with benefits, payroll, and compensation changes.
  • Serves as a key partner in evaluating the right metrics for and automating the scoring for the company’s incentive program.
  • Measures and quantifies the impact of key talent initiatives and helps tell the story behind the data.
  • Partners with HRIS team to ensure data integrity coming from Workday and other HR systems.
  • Partners with the Business Intelligence and Operations Reporting & Analysis teams to ensure proper set up of data and consistency in use.
  • Assesses current Business Analysis processes and provides recommendations for new methods to enhance analytics for internal customers.
  • Defines measures of success from the inception of the project, creates goal metrics based on the recommendation/ change, and monitors effectiveness of project in relation to said metrics.
  • Partners with internal teams to collect necessary data; uses data results to develop recommendations for strategies and execution.
  • Maintains high level of confidentiality and sensitivity regarding seeing HR data.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Marketing, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office required
  • 1+ years experience in related field preferred; 1-2 years of Human Resources experience or exposure preferred
  • Exposure to Business Intelligence tools such as SQL, MicroStrategy, Tableau and Business Intelligence Software is preferred
  • Experience with PowerBI a plus
  • Experience using Workday reporting a plus
  • Experience performing business analysis or financial/statistical data in a retail environment is a plus
