Job Description:

The Field HR Business Partner is responsible for the talent attraction and employee relations functions of their specified region. This individual supervises a team of Field Talent Acquisition Specialists. The Field HR Business Partner works to resolve employee grievances and advise operations leaders on performance and behavior issues. They are an advocate for all employees that work at RaceTrac. Up to 50% travel within the designated region required. 


Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Leads, develops, oversees, and provides feedback to a team of Field Talent Acquisition Specialists; ensures the appropriate development tools and resources are available.
  • Helps to communicate Human Resources KBOs and ensures these objectives are consistently met.

Recruits Top Talent

  • Educates field employees and the Talent Acquisition team on the hiring process; including, but not limited to the HIRE program and direct recruiting.
  • Recruits and staffs top talent for managerial positions at the retail locations in the designated region as well as from external venues. Screens, interviews, and communicates offers to qualified candidates.
  •  Builds partnerships both internally and externally in an effort to recruit top talent.

Strategic Leader 

  • Support the Director of HR in their function as needed.
  • Creates Recruiting strategies that solve for talent gaps and create a competitive advantage for RaceTrac.
  • Develops and maintains an understanding of recruitment best practices in order to build talent and bench strength through external and internal recruiting.

Employee Relations

  • Responsible for making recommendations to the Director of Human Resources and the Director of Operations that can prevent or solve for employee relations themes.
  • Supports the new hire orientation process and facilitates the onboarding and programs for new store employees.
  • Conducts employee relations investigations to ensure that RaceTrac’s standards of conduct are met and supports with identifying and/or clarifying any employee relations issues.
  • Builds relationships with SSC employees and serves as a support to any HR processes as needed (i.e., payroll, benefits, administration functions, etc.)
  • Serves as an employee advocate for employee relations issues in the field, and ensures that issues are appropriately handled and escalated to the correct person(s).


  • 3+ years experience in a retail or related field preferred
  • 1+ years experience as a Field Talent Acquisition Specialist position preferred
  • Experience managing or supervising staff within the retail industry preferred
  • Experience using an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) preferred
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel preferred
