Job Description

The Instructional Content Specialist (“ICS”) is responsible for designing and developing a variety of instructional and training materials for the Field and SSC. This individual uses software, design, and technical writing skills to achieve the learning goals of the internal customer. The ICS demonstrates and utilizes effective needs analysis, project management, and materials development to ensure the success of training implementation. 

Job Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Assists with the design, development, execution, and revision of a variety of training materials.
    • Works closely with subject matter experts (“SMEs”) and key stakeholders to design and coordinate development and maintenance of instructional content.
    • Develops instructional material and incorporates strong technical writing standards, learning principles and systematic design approaches.
    • Edits materials to ensure that writing is grammatically correct and consistent with good technical writing practices.
    • Adhere to RaceTrac Learning and Organizational brand standards, and maintain design consistency and quality across all instructional content.
    • Reviews and maintains current catalog of training materials, identifies gaps, and recommends changes.
  • Manage content development life cycle to ensure timely delivery of instructional material.
    • Aid in the development and adherence to project timelines and scope.
    • Serve as liaison to SMEs throughout the development life cycle.
    • Manage review cycles; coordinate review-related activities with SMEs.
    • Work individually and collaboratively to meet deadlines and expectations for each project.


Qualifications
  • 2+ years graphic design or design and development of web-based learning materials preferred
  • Knowledge and experience incorporating ADDIE is preferred
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Articulate 360 required
  • Experience training retail employees and creating training materials for a retail organization a plus
  • Experience with utilizing Learning Management Systems (LMS)for eLearning distribution a plus
