Job Description:

The Director of IT Results Management Office (RMO) and IT Finance is responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight for creating, sustaining, implementing, and driving efficient and effective program management processes in support of IT and business objectives.  This role also manages and advances the IT Finance capabilities to ensure clear reporting and forecasting of all IT department budgets and project related spend.  This role will partner with leaders and stakeholders from both IT and the business to ensure proper coordination and execution of activities related to technology delivery and optimization. Responsibilities include oversight of multiple programs within the overall IT portfolio, including the direction of the IT PMO organizations’ support of projects from demand origination to project closure. This position requires significant interaction with cross-functional departments, collaboration across technology verticals, and excellent communication and relationship management skills to influence and resolve issues timely and effectively.


Results Management Office

  • Manages the methodology and processes to design, develop, and/or implement new or enhanced systems projects or programs. Collaborate with business and IT leadership to support project intake, vetting, and prioritization to best support the overall IT strategy.
  • Collaborates with IT leadership on analysis of proposed projects, ensuring compliance and alignment with technology standards and ensuring that project benefits are defined, managed, and realized.
  • Translates business needs into actions through a thoughtful and well-planned approach. Establishes measurement criteria and systems to track daily processes, implementation of new initiatives and value creation, and continuous process improvement efforts.
  • Facilitates and support coordination for project efforts from demand origination through project closure. Anticipates and aggressively removes obstacles that slow down or prevent delivery.
  • Leads the RMO team and grows talent; develops and coaches with a focus on sharing knowledge and increasing efficiencies. Holds self and team accountable for results.
  • Partners cross functionally with other internal departments and operates the RMO team in a manner that best supports the strategic goals of both IT and RaceTrac, increases efficiencies, and simplifies our Guests’ and Associates’ lives.
  • Serves as the point of escalation with issues directly related to project delivery.

IT Finance

  • Leads the team (Technology Finance) responsible for the financial management, accounting and reporting for all Technology investments, and coordinates across the organization to manage capital and expense within plan.
  • Partners with Technology SLT, and their teams to manage capital and expense within plan.
  • Provides financial transparency and analysis to IT, Finance and Business teams across the company to identify risks and opportunities and provide decision support.
  • Prepares effective dashboards and reports to provide to IT and business leaders.
  • Owns the IT capitalization policy and financial controls to support labor capitalization.
  • Partners with corporate accounting, tax, and internal and external auditors on accounting impacts.
  • Serves as the business owner of tools that support Technology inputs, entries, and reports.


  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year College or University, with a focus on Information Technology or equivalent professional experience required.
  • 4 years’ experience in IT project and program management, 5+ years’ experience in a management role preferred.
  • Proven track record of managing large programs with multiple stakeholders, including maintaining accurate key performance measures relating to PMO and project management best practices such as building work breakdown structures, Waterfall/Agile/Scrum methodologies, etc.; experience with traditional SDLC methodologies; experienced with developing overarching traditional schedules combined with Agile methodologies and toolsets.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast paced; matrixed organization; recognize and react to changing business needs.
  • Can effectively communicate with all levels of the organization including cross-functionally.
  • Must display outstanding verbal, written, and technical communication skills.
  • CSM, PMP, PMI, PMI-ACP Certifications a plus
  • Prior experience with Program Management Technology
  • Retail experiences a plus
