Job Description:

The Merchandising Operations Manager is responsible for leading the product implementation function of Merchandising.  This includes the data flow maintenance of all product information from our Merchandise and Food Service Management System (PDI) that supports the store point of sale system and the inventory life cycle and standard operating procedures for rolling out products to market.  Core responsibility is aligning the Merchandising Operations team with Category Management on procedures around pricing concepts and product life cycles. This role is critical to the daily business operations of merchandise due to the processes directly impacted (inventory availability, invoicing, sales, audits & ordering).  This role is the functional subject matter expert in the Pricebook portion of the merchandise management system.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as subject matter expert on back office solution used for managing pricing, cost, contracts, and item attributes (taxability, EBT, brand, manufacturer, etc.) as it relates to consumer packaged goods
  • Ensures  inventory is being monitored and adjusted at all points of the supply chain (manufacturer, distributor & store) to meet the ebbs and flows of demand
  • Implements guidelines and standard operating procedures that ensure the integrity of the merchandise pricebooks
  • Creates and maintains procedures for analyzing invoice exceptions to ensure margin targets are being hit, as well as maintain the accuracy of inventory
  • Oversees monthly promotion pricing processes across all stages of planning, setup, implementation & troubleshooting
  • Identifies deficiencies in product life cycle procedures & merchandise management systems (PDI & Radiant) and recommend potential solutions to remedy (systematic or process-based)
  • Manages onboarding vendors and ongoing vendor agreements (rebates) while partnering with Category Management and Accounting to analyze monthly accruals
  • Develops team members to have both hard and soft skills need to support the day to day merchandise operations, as well as meet their desired career goals

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • 5+ years of retail/merchandising/category management experience preferred
  • Excellent understanding of retail business operations
  • Leadership experience preferred
