Job Description:

The Operations Supervisor is ultimately responsible for the profitability of up to 13 high-volume convenience store retail outlets. This individual leads and oversees the development of up to 250 employees while serving as direct resource for operational and personnel related issues. The Operations Supervisor continually drives profitability, developing people, and the highest level of guest service while ensuring objectives align with RaceTrac’s regional strategy and goals.  


•    Responsible for stores within their respective area for maintaining overall presentation standards, guest/customer service standards and representing RaceTrac brand/image to set expectations.
•    Leads store management meetings and participates in regional leadership meetings to communicate area performance, store specific performance and strategic and tactical initiatives. 
•    Spends time on all shifts, in all stores, coaching, training, assessing, and actively leading all store teams within their respective area.
•    Identifies and leverages talent as well as collaborates with HR to grow leadership skills to ultimately build bench-strength and a high performing team.
•    Plans, organizes, and provides leadership for multiple stores including successful buy in and implementation of key business objectives and strategy within their respective area.  
•    Identifies areas of opportunity, coordinates programs, and works with Merchandising, Marketing, Category Managers, and Vendors as necessary. 
•    Assists in the evaluation of vendors and suppliers through communication to the Director of Operations and Category Management so that efforts continually enhance product attributes (such as quality, pricing and logistics) are consistently sought and supported.
•    Drives excellence in Food Service by implementing goals to increase sales, margin, product quality, and the utilization of training resources.
•    Serves as a driver for product initiatives as well as the liaison for Category Management and the field in regards to product feedback and provides suggestions for alternative products and improvement.  
•    Partners with Regional Services Manager and Director of Operations to ensure all store facilities and equipment are safe, clean, and fully functional.
•    Provides feedback on Real Estate opportunities, trends, and challenges. Works closely with construction/local building inspectors throughout all aspects of the build, permitting, and certificate of occupancy for new stores and remodels within their respective area.  
•    Ensures and promotes a safe workplace and safe product handling by supporting safety training initiatives and counseling direct reports as necessary.
•    Maintains knowledge and awareness of competition, including pricing and promotions.
•    Understands the overall retail environment and competitive landscape of the region, such as indirect competition, market awareness, industry trends, etc. 


•    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business management or related field preferred
•    5-7 years related work experience preferred 
•    Proven successful Retail Management experience preferred
•    Experience in multi-unit management a plus
•    Previous experience working in high-volume, guest-focused, transactional environment preferred
