Job Description:

The Store Standards and Compliance Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that all store policies, people standards, and assessments are updated and communicated in all RaceTrac store locations. This person will implement systems and monitor/track all local store personnel certification requirements such as food handler and alcohol service permits, to include initial and expiring certifications. This role will also oversee the periodic updates to store personnel policies and training/compliance assessments.

Responsibilities:

Developing + Communicating Store Policies and Standards

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure that the store policy handbook is current and accurate.
  • Ensure that all state and local policies/postings are current and communicated to all store team members.  
  • Work with the HRIS team to ensure that all current RaceTrac policies and procedures are correctly and clearly communicated to store team members via Workday.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to implement and communicate all store HR policies, procedures and practices to RaceTrac regional teams and stores; ensures that policies are consistent with all federal, state and local regulations.
  • Ensure that all local and state food handler permit requirements are documented and communicated to all store support teams and new RaceTrac employees.
  • Ensure that all local and state alcohol server permit requirements are documented and communicated to all store support teams and new RaceTrac employees.
  • Responsible for implementation and maintenance of permit tracking processes and systems.
  • Responsible for monitoring any expiring permits (food handlers, alcohol, other) and communicating to regional teams.
  • Research and recommend long-term, sustainable best practices.

Employee Training

  • Regularly audit and update any store-level assessments to include safety and regulatory training topics.
  • Ensure that all local and state regulatory training courses are current – both online and instructor led.
  • Manage the quarterly and annual assessment deployment calendar.
  • Track and report on training adoption and usage.

Qualifications:

  • HR background and previous experience with policy design and implementation.
  • Strong program and/or project management skills with direct experience managing/owning the stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong technical writing skills.
  • Substantial business acumen with experience working for a multi-state, multi-site company; corporate office experience required.
  • Possess a clear, comprehensive understanding of the link between HR and business strategy; must be able to convert into action.
  • Workday experience preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills appropriate for consultation to all levels of management; the ability to present ideas clearly and gain agreement and group consensus.
  • Ability to influence and drive change in the organization.
  • Solutions-focused, results-oriented approach to recommendations and processes.
  • Knowledge of HR related laws and regulations.
  • Strong decision-making orientation; interface effectively with leadership and carry a strong point of view to a positive decision.
  • Direct working expertise and proficiency in using a computer and the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
  • 4-year degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 2 years of General HR experience in a fast-paced Human Resources or similar environment.
  • Previous retail experience preferred.
