Job Description

The Manager of Store Systems & Technologies leads a group Business Analysts and Engineers in the Information Technology department and acts as the face of this team to internal customers.  This individual sets team expectations on deliverable, communicates with internal clients, and identifies and proactively solves any problems. The Manager is responsible for continuous improvement of software and development processes. Up to 10% travel required.

Job Requirements

Responsibilities
  • Collaborates with team members (DGX, IT Security, Business, Engineering, etc.) to create secure, reliable and saleable systems solutions.
  • Serves as technical escalation point for the engineers on the team as well as providing leadership, mentoring, and coaching to Software Engineers.
  • Sustains a consistent store technology architecture that enables consistency as well as monitoring awareness of technologies in the retail space to ensure the highest quality up-time and minimizes impact to guests and store teams.
  • Writes custom code or scripts to automate infrastructure, monitoring services and test cases.
  • Creates monitoring and alerting processes to allow for real time awareness of system issues across all stores in order to capture and address issues proactively
  • Collaborates with business owners on needs related to Store Systems and translates them into actionable requirements.
  • Manages engineers and ensures career growth and development opportunities are provided; serves as an expert in the Information Systems field and provides leadership and direction to team on industry best practices.
  • Discovers new opportunities to optimize the business through improved processes and functional enhancements.
  • Works with the teams of engineers to plan and execute projects in a timely manner while delivering upon the customer’s expectations.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology preferred
  • 5+ years of people management experience
  • 7+ years of retail systems software application experience
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skill with the ability to multitask in order to balance immediate and long/term priorities preferred
  • Effective oral and written communication
  • Effective at balancing workload across team as well as translating high level strategy to tactical execution
